Pillars of Success awarded grant

The Henry County Community Foundation recently awarded grant of $1,050 to Pillars of Success. “This grant was awarded to assist Pillars of Success in beginning their journey as a 501 (c) 3 non-profit facility to assist individuals in Henry County and across Northwest Ohio” said Dusty Sonnenberg, Executive Director of the Henry County Community Foundation.
The mission of Pillars of Success is to support and strengthen Henry County by providing emergency shelter and supportive services to homeless people, in an atmosphere of dignity and respect, with the goal of helping them regain quality of life.

$1,000 Grant Awarded for Transportation Needs in Henry County

The Henry County Community Foundation is pleased to announce the awarding of $1,000 to the Henry County Transportation Network to assist in funding the purchase of four new vehicles for use in transporting Henry County residents in need.

“These funds will help the Henry County Transportation Network to continue to provide the residents of Henry County with safe and reliable public transportation to all of Ohio, Southern Michigan, and Northeast Indiana.” said Mike Saneholtz, Coordinator of the Henry County Transportation Network.

$1,000 Grant awarded for Food and Fitness Program in Henry County

The Henry County Community Foundation recently awarded a grant for $1,000 to OSU Extension, Henry County to be used in promotional efforts for the “Jump into Foods & Fitness” program.  “Through this program, OSU Extension, with the cooperation of The City of Napoleon Parks & Recreation Department, Napoleon Area Schools, St. Paul Lutheran School and the Henry County Hospital, provide nutritious meals to school-aged children when school is not in session.  This meal is provided along with nutrition education and physical activities for the overall health of the children in our community.” said Vickie Roth of OSU Extension.
